The 2nd anniversary of the blog and outlook for 2023

The 2nd anniversary of the blog and outlook for 2023

It's time to sum up 2022 and set priorities for 2023.

Today is the 2nd anniversary of the blog which I launched exactly 2 years ago.

The first and most important thing first – I’d like to say a big “thank you” to all people who support me and who read the content that I create.

In this post, I will present a quick summary of the last year, what I have achieved (and what’s not) in terms of my activity as a blogger, and what are the plans for 2023.

Let’s get started then 🙂

The recap of 2022

This year I can describe it as a time with big two events in my professional and personal life.

First of all, in July I got married which was a fantastic experience. Also, I’d like to thank my wife for all of her support, without her it would be harder to manage to do all of the things related to my career & business. As a side note, to organize the wedding we had to dedicate a lot of time and effort.

Secondly, I change my job and move to a completely different industry. It took some time and a lot of energy to make it happen but right now I have the feeling that I have a job that I really enjoy.

Apart from these two things I have the feeling that the last twelve months were the time when I reached the tipping point. After several years of going back and forth, looking for the life path that best suits me, I think that I found the right one.

Lessons learned

The main takeaway from this year is – everything is possible, it’s all about how much effort you have to put in to make something happen. I have several examples from 2022 as proof of that statement.

The second lesson is about connections. During this year I met so many fantastic people from who I gained a lot of knowledge and experience. I’d like to encourage everyone to use every opportunity for networking.

The third lesson is about my fears. In the summary of 2021, I wrote about my fear of being criticized or fear of talking to strangers (mainly in relation to the interviews). I think that I’ve found a way to overcome them which is a game-changer in terms of my personal development.

The last lesson is the art of letting things and people go. I learned that there is no way to satisfy everyone and to do everything. I realized also that I’m not able to control everything and everyone and also that I have the right to live in harmony with my soul and values.

Blog Plan vs reality

The next part is about my plan for 2022 related to my blog and what I’ve achieved.

I’d like to say, first of all, that not so many things changed in terms of the blog structure, design, speed, usability, and so on. I had that plans but I didn’t find the time and space to realize them. Am I feel guilty? Not really, because I think that a blog in its current form is really useful but it’s a lesson for me that I have to plan these kinds of changes more carefully.

Last year, in the year-end summary I mentioned about following goals for 2023:

My first priority was to keep the blog alive, publish regular basis articles about personal development and invite other authors

The blog is still alive but didn’t have so many articles – only 6 and I also didn’t invite any other bloggers to contribute to my content. In addition to that, I decided that on my blog I will publish articles about Scrum and Agile – so far I created one post about these topics.

Secondly, post more and also, on a regular basis, on LinkedIn, and connect with many interesting and inspirational people.

I realized this plan, but in the second half of the year. Since August I publish content on that platform every single day. Also, I meet there so many fantastic people.

The last priority was to record more interviews and also do solo podcasts.

This year I launched the podcasts and I did 9 episodes with the guests. As of now, the number of solo episodes is 0. I’d like to admit that I really enjoy this form of sharing knowledge.

What are also my other achievements?

  • I had a chance to participate in two on-site events as a workshop leader.
  • Together with other people, we organized 18 in-person meetings for the Agile/Scrum Community in Cracow
  • I’ve created and run the first edition (in polish language) of my workshop “from 0 to Scrum Master)
  • I released my first product – Scrum Master Diary 2023 – you can buy it here – https://www.amazon.pl/dp/B0BQ5C7BYX

Plans for 2023

I’m so grateful for the last year and I’m looking forward to the next one. As I try to be as transparent as possible here is my list of the things that I’d like to do in terms of the blog in 2023:

  • Finalize my personal brand – to create all assets like logo or graphics and set up my personal brand strategy.
  • Write 12 articles on my blog – one article per month.
  • Change the design of the blog (to make it more user-friendly) and update all of the blog posts (in terms of the content)
  • Create the first video course – on how to become a Scrum Master from scratch.
  • Record, at least, 12 interviews with the guest and 5 solo podcasts.
  • Create another digital or physical product.
  • Work on my social media – I need to find a way to do it in an effective way.

This list might sound like a lot of things to do (also taking into account the fact that I have a full-time job) but I’m really motivated to work on every single item 🙂

I wish you all the best in the New Year 🙂
